This Trillian soundset is a conversion of Christian Cosas's Tritone Symphonic soundset for Adium, a Mac-only IM client. It's an orchestral soundset built around the musical interval known as the tritone, aka "The Devil's Interval". It's a dissonant and unstable interval, and has a spooky, off-kilter feel to it.

This soundset is a compositional experiment, designed to express a musical idea while also remaining simple and functional. Many other soundsets (including the official AIM and MSN alerts) merely resort to using basic major triads and consonant intervals like a perfect fifth or fourth. Tritone Symphonic uses a little more sophisticated music theory, incorporating dissonances.

I'm new to this version of Trillian...how to I change the sound set?

Thanks! Otherwise, good work! I have Adium on my Mac and loved this sound scheme, so I'm glad you've brought it over!

Sorry, I don't check here real often. Put the directory/files in [your trillian directory]/stixe/plugins/ . It should come up in preferences->skins->advanced as an option then. You might have to restart trill for it to notice, I don't remember.

I can open up the files, and they sound great. I just can't get it to work with trillian. It comes up in preferences and everything, but when I set it there's no sound at all.
:iconviralanomaly:
What version of Trill are you using? I only tested it with Trillian 3.1 Pro, since that is the only one I have installed.
:iconorangelemons:
I'm pretty sure that's the version I'm using. Anyway, I got it to work by editing the alerts individually instead of going into the skins section and choosing the soundpack.
:iconviralanomaly:
Sorry you had to do it the hard way, but at least I hope it was worth it in the end...

Wow, this soundpack is unique! Gives Trillian an "epic suspense movie" feel.
